'Wanna Dance' was a collaborative project between City People, Studio Chris Fox and Emma Saunders, as part of the Sydney Solstice Festival 2021.

The team designed, fabricated and installed three industrial vents that were transformed into poppy dance hoods, utilising motion sensors, disco lights and a produced music soundtrack to invite the general public to dance. The interactive intervention transformed a gritty urban laneway into a space that was vibrantly activated both day and night.

The team worked with experienced music producers, dance choreographers and local community dance groups to organise live dance performances that reflected the rich cultural identity of the area (K-Pop, Chinese Ballroom) and to further activate the space.
