Re/Place Pavilion is a public installation exploring circular economy principles through the reuse and reconfiguration of timber structural elements. Developed collaboratively by Chris Fox and Sascha Bohnenberger-Fehr, the project investigates how salvaged materials can be reimagined as high-value architectural components. Constructed from reclaimed timber sourced from multiple sites and mycelium, the pavilion operates as both a spatial structure and a material research project.
Through computational design processes, rule-based systems are used to organise discrete elements into a coherent structural and spatial framework, enabling flexibility and responsiveness to the variability of available materials. The project contributes to ongoing research into circular design, fabrication systems, and the integration of environmental thinking within architecture and public art.
